Full Description
Your journey begins at Tsurutontan Soemoncho, departing at 8:00 AM for a seamless and exciting day ahead.
Start in Nara Park, where friendly deer roam freely. Feed and photograph them before heading to Todaiji Temple, home to Japan’s Great Buddha statue housed in one of the world’s largest wooden structures. Then, visit Kasugataisha Shrine, known for its forested pathways and hundreds of bronze and stone lanterns.
Next, continue to Byodoin Temple in Uji, an iconic UNESCO World Heritage site featured on Japan’s 10-yen coin. Its Phoenix Hall reflects over a peaceful pond, offering a glimpse into Heian-period architecture. Nearby, stroll through Uji Omotesando, a quaint street filled with traditional tea shops and restaurants—perfect for lunch and matcha treats (at your own expense).
In the afternoon, visit the iconic Fushimi Inari Taisha, famous for its thousands of vibrant torii gates stretching into the forested hillside. Experience the sacred, photogenic atmosphere that has made this site world-famous.
