Master the delicate art of sushi-making in Kyoto’s original small-group workshop. Enjoy hands-on instruction in a serene traditional space and learn to create elegant, authentic sushi with expert guidance.
Step into a beautifully restored traditional building in the heart of Kyoto for an authentic sushi-making experience. This small-group workshop is designed to offer personal attention and hands-on guidance in a welcoming, relaxed setting.
With a maximum of 8 participants per session, you’ll learn each step in detail — from seasoning rice and preparing toppings to shaping nigiri and rolling maki. Using fresh fish sourced from Kyoto’s local markets, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the techniques and philosophy behind Japanese sushi.
Your instructor will guide you in English through each stage of the process, offering cultural insights and practical tips you can use back home. After the class, sit down to enjoy your freshly made sushi alongside miso soup, and soak in the refined atmosphere that reflects Kyoto’s rich culinary heritage.
The experience ends with a special take-home gift: a sushi rolling mat, chopsticks, and a recipe card — so you can recreate your Kyoto memories wherever you are.
