This hands-on cooking class in Kyoto offers a memorable introduction to three of Japan’s most beloved dishes. At Manryo Cooking Class, your instructors will walk you through every step of the preparation process using ingredients and methods that can be replicated at home.
Unlike many cooking classes that focus on noodles, this class emphasizes ramen broth, the most complex and flavorful component of the dish. You’ll create both soy sauce and miso-based soups using seasonings such as garlic, ginger, miso, and sesame oil. While noodles are not handmade, you’ll gain all the skills you need to replicate the experience in your own kitchen.
You’ll also make gyoza, beginning with mixing the filling and finishing with wrapping techniques that ensure the perfect shape and seal. Finally, you’ll prepare onigiri, a classic Japanese comfort food made with rice and savory fillings — a fun and satisfying alternative to traditional sandwiches.
