A pivotal figure in the Japanese rock scene since his days leading the band Twist, Sera’s “KNOCK KNOCK” sessions are celebrated for their raw energy and collaborative spirit. This special program is designed as a musical dialogue, where Sera invites iconic guest artists to share the stage, blending acoustic arrangements of his own classics with unique covers and collaborative performances.

For the Sapporo show, the stage will feature two legendary co-stars: Muneyuki Kamimoto, the gifted keyboardist from the Twist era, and J-pop powerhouse Misato Watanabe. This trio promises an unforgettable evening, mixing the grit of 70s rock with the soaring pop anthems that defined a generation. Fans can expect a curated setlist that travels from the high-voltage “Moero Ii Onna” to the heartfelt ballads and storytelling that have made Sera’s solo career so enduring.

FAQs

What can I expect from the “KNOCK KNOCK” format?

The “KNOCK KNOCK” series is less like a standard rock concert and more like a musical salon. Masanori Sera focuses on the “knock” between different artists’ styles, often performing hits by his guests (like Misato Watanabe) while they join him for acoustic versions of his own legendary tracks.

Is there an age restriction for this performance?

Yes, the organizers have noted that preschool children are not allowed admission. This policy is standard for theater-style acoustic performances to maintain the high audio quality and atmosphere for all guests.

How is the seating arranged at Kanamoto Hall?

All seats for this show are assigned (reserved). When you purchase your ticket, you will be given a specific row and seat number. There is no standing area or general admission for this event.

Will Misato Watanabe perform her own hits?

While the show is led by Masanori Sera, guests on the “KNOCK KNOCK” tour typically perform a few of their own major hits, often in a special acoustic collaboration with Sera himself.

Are tickets likely to sell out quickly?

Given the high profile of guests like Misato Watanabe and the limited number of seats at Kanamoto Hall, tickets are expected to be in high demand. We recommend placing your request as early as possible.
