City Hunter was first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1985. This was a deal because City Hunter helped create a new era of Japanese manga and animation. The man behind City Hunter is Tsukasa Hojo, who’s really good at drawing. City Hunter is about Ryo Saeba, a good private investigator who is also great with a gun. He works in Shinjuku, which’s a part of a city that is always lit up at night. Ryo Saeba has a partner named Kaori Makimura. She is very loyal to him. City Hunter has a lot of things that people like such as action with guns, comedy that’s funny and romance that is sad at times. Because of this City Hunter became very popular around the world. It led to the creation of anime series, movies and even live-action versions of City Hunter that people, in other countries made.

This display shows how Hojos drawing skills improved over time.
