She started learning music in Japan. Then she studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts which is called Tokyo Geidai. After that she worked hard to improve her music skills by studying and gaining experience in different countries. Later she did advanced studies at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts and also at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, in Austria.
Miki spent forty-two years based in Munich and Salzburg. During this time, she served as an associate and assistant to legendary pianist and educator Hans Leygraf at the Mozarteum. As a result, her extensive European career shaped a deeply analytical yet expressive interpretive style. Moreover, she earned widespread praise for her performances of German Romanticism and French Impressionism. In addition, music critics often highlight her crisp contrapuntal clarity and dignified posture at the keyboard.
