He comes from the Seoul underground and Night Tempo became known worldwide after he made viral re‑edits of 1980s Japanese City Pop. Night Tempo’s famous remix was of Mariya Takeuchi’s song “Plastic Love.” Night Tempo’s work introduced a generation of fans to the shiny disco‑style synth‑pop that originated in Japan’s Showa era.
Through the Showa Groove series Night Tempo has officially licensed and remixed foundational tracks from legendary Japanese artists, including Wink, Anri and BaBe.
