Why tofubeats matters in Japan
Tofubeats will play at Kanadevia Hall in Tokyo. This concert will be the solo show that Tofubeats has ever done. It comes after Tofubeats released the EP “Angels On The Dancefloor” in May 2026. That EP is the first new music Tofubeats has made in two years. The last EP, “NOBODY” used AI voices over it. Tofubeats built this EP around a theme he calls “J-CLUB”. “J-CLUB” is a take on Japanese club music from the 2000s and 2010s. The EP features guest singers Hitomitoi and Satoko Shibata. The remix team includes Shinichiro Yokota, a pioneer of house music.
Tofubeats first appeared on a label in 2013. That debut was a collaboration with Chisato Moritaka. Since then Tofubeats has moved back and forth between club music and popular pop. Tofubeats has also made music for singers and has created soundtracks for the TV anime “Seihantai na Kimi to Boku”. The EP was first played at release parties in CIRCUS Tokyo in July and CIRCUS Osaka in August 2026. Those parties brought the music to the dancefloor. The Kanadevia Hall concert comes after Tofubeats Live at Zepp Haneda in January 2025. That 2025 show was Tofubeats’ solo concert up to that point. The new Kanadevia Hall show is expected to be even larger.
The programme is split into three parts. First Tofubeats will perform a set with BEAMTWISTER. Second a film will show the history of Tofubeats’ career. Third Tofubeats will play a live set with guests. The guests are STUTS, Tokkuri, DEKISHI, Kotetsu Shoichiro, Neibiss and one secret performer. If you are a visitor from another country this evening gives you an opportunity. You will hear club music performed by one of the most unique producers in a big hall, in Tokyo.

Kanadevia Hall is located in the Korakuen area of Bunkyo‑ku, Tokyo next to Tokyo Dome. From Kanadevia Hall you can walk to Suidobashi Station on the JR Chuo‑Sobu Line and the Toei Mita Line in five minutes. You can also walk to Korakuen Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi and Namboku lines, in five minutes.
