What You’ll Experience

This 3-hour manga drawing workshop is carefully structured to offer an engaging and educational experience for manga enthusiasts and curious travelers alike.

The class begins with a basic introduction to manga storytelling and panel layout. You’ll then move on to practice using dip pens, mastering line control and brushwork as used by professional artists. Your instructor will help you refine your character designs, facial expressions, and action lines.

Once your rough sketch is in place, you’ll ink your drawings, apply black fills, and finish with screen tones—those signature shaded textures seen in nearly every Japanese manga. These skills will give your manga page an authentic, polished appearance.

While the workshop is conducted in Japanese, it includes English-language visual instructions on slides, allowing international participants to follow each step easily.

This workshop is especially suited for:

  • Manga and anime fans looking for an authentic creative experience
  • Aspiring artists interested in learning Japanese illustration techniques
  • Travelers seeking a culturally rich, hands-on activity
  • Families with older children or teens who love drawing or Japanese culture
