The Pinnacle of Adaptive Sports in Asia

Organised by the Asian Paralympic Committee with the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games Organising Committee the 2026 Games are the fifth time this big multi-sport event has taken place in Asia. This event is for athletes who have visual and intellectual impairments. The previous editions were held in Guangzhou, Incheon, Jakarta and Hangzhou. Now the 2026 Games bring Japan back into the spotlight of the global parasport movement.

For seven days thousands of athletes will take part in 18 different parasports. The event includes a range of sports. There are fast team sports like wheelchair basketball, blind football, wheelchair rugby, goalball and seated volleyball. There are also sports that require accuracy like para archery, para shooting and boccia. The programme also includes combat and strong sports like para judo, para powerlifting and para taekwondo. There are also sports that test speed and endurance such as para athletics, para swimming, para table tennis, para badminton, parafencing, wheelchair tennis and both track and road para cycling.

The Games take place in Aichi Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture. Some of the places where the Games are held include the Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium and the new Aichi International Arena in Nagoya. Some events like track cycling take place in national facilities like the Izu Velodrome in Shizuoka. Every place where the Games are held is a world-class environment, for sports.
