Escape the crowds and discover the natural beauty and cultural richness of Kyoto’s Arashiyama district on this small-group walking tour. Your adventure begins at Saga-Arashiyama Station, where you’ll meet your guide and start your peaceful stroll into the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Take in the gentle swaying of the towering stalks and enjoy the meditative sounds of rustling leaves — a true Kyoto highlight.
Continue to the Okochi Sanso Villa, once the private estate of a famous Japanese actor. Here, you’ll enjoy stunning landscaped gardens and a traditional bowl of matcha green tea with Japanese sweets.
The tour then takes you on a scenic hike up Monkey Mountain (Iwatayama Monkey Park). Once at the top, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views of Kyoto city and a chance to interact (from a safe distance) with over 100 wild macaque monkeys. You may feed them from inside a designated feeding hut, and capture incredible photos of both the view and the monkeys.
