Begin your journey at Togetsu-kyo Bridge, the heart of Arashiyama and a designated national scenic and historic site. From here, your personal guide will lead you into one of Kyoto’s most iconic sights — the Bamboo Grove. While many experience this on foot, the rickshaw route includes exclusive access to a special rickshaw path through the bamboo forest, offering a peaceful and unique vantage point away from crowds.
As you’re pulled along by your guide, take in the blend of nature, architecture, and history that makes Arashiyama so beloved. Visit the Nonomiya Shrine, a charming Shinto site surrounded by tranquil forest. If you choose a longer tour, continue on to explore:
- Rakushisha’s Cottage, the former home of a famous haiku poet
- The Nison-in Temple, a quiet Buddhist sanctuary
- Lesser-known shrines, gardens, and hidden scenic corners of the district
