Full description

Travel through time on this immersive bike tour through the ancient capital of Nara. Your guide will lead you to well-preserved heritage sites, each offering a glimpse into Japan’s rich 8th-century history.

Start at Suzaku Gate, the main entrance to the Heijo Palace, where you’ll learn about the palace’s historical significance and take in scenic views.

Continue to the East Palace Garden, one of the earliest examples of Japanese landscaping, and admire the harmonious arrangement of bridges, buildings, and natural elements.

At the Excavation Site Museum, see preserved remains as they were discovered — a rare archaeological experience. Then bike around Mizukami Pond, soaking in the calm atmosphere, natural beauty, and sightings of ducks and turtles.

Stop by Hishiage Kofun, an ancient tomb with grave artifacts, followed by a visit to the Imperial Audience Hall, a reconstructed ceremonial site that captures the grandeur of the past.

Explore the Nara Palace Site Museum, home to relics like ancient tiles and wooden tablets. Step aboard the Kentoshi Ship, a replica of the envoy ship to the Tang Dynasty, and learn about the cultural exchanges of the period.

Conclude your journey with a fun and memorable costume experience, where you’ll wear traditional Tenpyo clothing and take commemorative photos — the perfect ending to a historical adventure.
