Experience Overview

Cultural Insight Meets Creative Cooking
This is more than a cooking class—it’s a deep dive into Japanese culture through one of its most iconic lunchtime traditions. “Bento” refers to a single-portion boxed meal, and in recent decades, it has evolved into a creative and artistic expression, especially in the form of character bento (known as “kyaraben”).

During the session, you’ll choose your favorite design (like a panda, bear, or seasonal motif), then use rice, vegetables, seaweed, cheese, and other colorful ingredients to construct your bento from scratch. Our instructors provide step-by-step English guidance and fun cultural background throughout the experience.

Reviews from Guests

“One of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo!”
“We were the only ones in the workshop that day, so it turned into a private class. Kenji was wonderful—kind and patient. Our panda bento came out so cute, and we ate it at Shinjuku Gyoen. It tasted even better than it looked.”

“An authentic, engaging cultural experience.”
“The class was so well-paced and full of cultural insights. The instructor was interactive and made the experience meaningful, not just a cooking session. Highly recommended!”

“Fun, creative, and delicious.”
“There were more ingredients than we could even fit in the bento box. Everything was delicious, and we had a great time crafting the shapes with help from our instructor.”
