The Story of Friends on Ice Tickets
Friends on Ice was started by Shizuka Arakawa, the woman who won the gold medal at the 2006 Olympics in Turin. Over the years it has become one of the popular and respected summer figure skating shows in Japan. This show is not a competition. Rather a big production that showcases the friendship and respect that figure skaters have for each other. In 2026 Friends on Ice will have been around for 20 years. It still brings together famous figure skaters, people who compete internationally and new skaters from Japan.
A Special Celebration of Figure Skating and Friendship
The best part of Friends on Ice is the performances that the skaters create just for the show in Shin-Yokohama. These are not like the competitions, where skaters have to follow certain rules. Instead they get to be creative and have fun with each other and with the people watching. The show has a lineup of skaters, including Daisuke Takahashi, who won a bronze medal at the Olympics and Kana Muramoto, who used to compete with him. There are also great skaters like Takeshi Honda and Akiko Suzuki, who have won medals at the world championships. Some other skaters who will be there are Kaori Sakamoto, Rika Hongo, Yuna Aoki and Sota Yamamoto. Fans from countries will also get to see some of their favorite skaters like Stéphane Lambiel, Jason Brown, Shae-Lynn Bourne Tulloch, Jeremy Abbott and the team of Kaitlyn Weaver and Ben Agosto.
The 20th anniversary show is special because it reminds us of the bonds between figure skaters from all over the world. The place where they skate the KOSE Shin-Yokohama Skating Center is set up so that fans can see the skaters close and feel like they are part of the action. They can see how fast the skaters can go and how emotion they put into their performances. Friends, on Ice is a special event that celebrates the beauty of figure skating.
Why Experience Friends on Ice Tickets Live in Japan
Attending an ice show in Japan gives a view into the countrys strong figure skating culture. Japanese fans are well-known over the world for their understanding, respect and excitement which makes the atmosphere inside the arena very lively and friendly.
