Full Description

Short on time but want to experience everything Kyoto has to offer? This full-day cycling adventure is the perfect blend of culture, nature, and history.

Your journey begins with a bike fitting and safety briefing at the Cycle Kyoto shop. First stop: the historic Toji Temple, Kyoto’s oldest. From there, pedal over to Nishi Honganji, then cruise through local shopping arcades and stop at the charming Shinsen-en Garden. You’ll continue to the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, followed by a guided visit to the world-famous Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), where entry is included.

A relaxing traditional Japanese lunch awaits before riding along the peaceful Kamo River toward Gion, Kyoto’s enchanting geisha district. After a stroll through Tofukuji Temple, the day concludes at the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, where thousands of vibrant red torii gates line the path into the mountains.

This is a comprehensive and unforgettable Kyoto tour that covers more ground than most full-day walking tours—ideal for travelers who want to see it all.

Reviews

“What a wonderful way to experience Kyoto. We saw beautiful old neighborhoods, shrines, major sites, and learned a ton from our guide. The route was mostly low-traffic and safe. The lunch was amazing too. Can’t recommend it more!”

“Great introduction to Kyoto. Karl was a fun, knowledgeable guide and took us to an amazing ramen lunch spot. I was fine on a regular bike—the city is flat and easy to ride.”

“The itinerary was well-organized, and our tour leader was caring and attentive. A fantastic experience overall.”
