Full Description

Set off on an immersive journey through Kyoto’s most treasured sites by bicycle. After a quick bike fitting and safety briefing, begin your adventure in the serene Arashiyama district, cycling through its famous Bamboo Forest.

Continue on to the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine, where thousands of red torii gates weave through the hills. Walk the trails and admire the fox statues scattered across the grounds, symbols of the Shinto deity Inari.

Stop for a light lunch to refuel, then head toward the atmospheric streets of Gion. With luck, you may spot geisha or maiko on their way to appointments as you ride through this historical entertainment district.

Next, bike uphill to the eastern edge of Kyoto to reach Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Take in the dramatic views and explore its sacred Otowa Spring, known for its healing waters.

Finally, head to Kinkaku-ji, Kyoto’s famed Golden Pavilion. Admire its golden façade reflecting in the pond below — a breathtaking sight to close your journey. The tour concludes with a return ride back to the starting point in Arashiyama.

Note: This tour covers nearly 30 miles (around 48 km). An e-bike is strongly recommended for comfort unless you’re an experienced cyclist.
