Full Description

Experience Kobe from north to south in just four hours. This half-day walking tour combines historical discovery with modern vibrancy, offering insights into the city’s evolution through the centuries. Your guide will help you uncover hidden gems and share fascinating stories about this picturesque port town.

The tour begins in downtown Sannomiya at San-Kita Amore Park. From there, head uphill to Kitano Ijinkan-Gai, Kobe’s former European district. This charming area on a hilltop is filled with Western-style houses built during the Meiji and Taisho eras, and it offers stunning views of the city and harbor below.

Next, descend back to the heart of the city and walk through the vibrant Sannomiya Center Gai, a bustling shopping street filled with local life.

From there, continue on to Nankinmachi, Kobe’s Chinatown, where the colors, aromas, and architecture transport you to another world.

Finally, make your way to the Port of Kobe and Harborland — a lively waterfront district rebuilt after the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. Take in views of the Kobe Port Tower, boats, and bay area attractions. Learn how Kobe reinvented itself after tragedy and see its modern charm in full display.

Reviews

“The tour was very eye-opening, getting to see the history of Kobe and the influences from other cultures that have settled there. Moloud was very friendly, knowledgeable, and considerate. The tour itself was very customizable. We were able to add/subtract certain points of interest along the way. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who’s looking to get a decent (but not too much) amount of walking in, and see what the city of Kobe has to offer.”
