Located along the scenic Takase River in the heart of historic Gojo, Kyoto, this immersive calligraphy workshop offers a peaceful yet creative cultural experience in a traditional townhouse.
The session begins with a brief meditation led by an instructor certified in yoga and Pilates, helping you center yourself before engaging in the art of Japanese calligraphy.
Calligraphy is more than just writing — it’s a reflection of your current emotions and mindset. As the Japanese saying goes, “Calligraphy reflects the person.” Each stroke becomes a mirror of your inner self.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or have prior experience, this workshop is open to everyone. With expert guidance, you’ll not only learn brush techniques and stroke practice but also create a unique piece on colored paper or postcard to take home.
