Highlights

  • Immerse yourself in Japanese tea culture inside the lush green Kenrokuen Garden

  • Taste delicious Japanese wagashi sweets made by a renowned confectioner
  • Participate in a formal tea ceremony and observe the authentic procedure

Full Description

Meet your guide at Kenrokutei, a historic building once used to entertain important guests of Lord Maeda. After a brief introduction to the history and meaning behind the tea ceremony, enjoy a demonstration performed by a tea master, with detailed explanations.

Learn the proper etiquette and behavior expected in a traditional tea ceremony. Then, try your hand at preparing matcha tea under the guidance of the instructor and enjoy the tea you made along with handmade wagashi sweets from traditional confectionery shops.

Feel free to take photos to remember this peaceful and culturally enriching experience.

Important Note:
This experience takes place inside Kenrokuen Garden. A separate entrance fee to the garden (¥320) is required and not included in this ticket. The garden is not visible from the tea room, so we recommend exploring Kenrokuen either before or after the tea ceremony.
