Step into the elegance of Japanese tradition with the RikaWafuku Kimono Rental Experience, just a short walk from Gion-Shijo Station. This experience is designed to make wearing a kimono simple and stress-free for travelers. Here’s how it works:
① Visit the Store
Arrive at your scheduled time. All necessary items are provided, so you can come completely empty-handed.
② Reception
Confirm your kimono or yukata rental plan. Optional accessories are available at an extra charge (cash payment only).
③ Kimono Selection
Browse through more than 400 styles. No matter the plan you choose, you can select any kimono or yukata you like — the price remains the same. Experienced staff are available to help with your selection.
④ Luggage Storage
Leave your clothes or unnecessary items at the store. Large suitcases will incur an additional fee.
⑤ Kimono Dressing
Professional kimono dressers will assist you in putting on your kimono or yukata. You don’t need to bring anything.
⑥ Hair Styling (Women Only)
Hair stylists will style your hair using professional tools and include accessories that match your kimono. Choose from 5 preset styles. (Note: This service is not available for men.)
⑦ Accessories
Choose matching sandals or geta. Seasonal custom-made zori sandals are also available.
⑧ Sightseeing in Kimono
Enjoy walking through Kyoto’s charming streets in your rented kimono. The Gion area offers temples, shrines, teahouses, and restaurants nearby.
⑨ Kimono Return
Return your kimono by the designated final return time. Late returns may incur additional fees.
