Full Description

Embark on a full-day guided adventure from Kyoto or Osaka to explore the cultural treasures and scenic beauty of two of Japan’s most historic cities: Kyoto and Nara.

Arashiyama Bamboo Forest

Your first stop is Arashiyama, known for its Sagano Bamboo Grove, serene atmosphere, and riverside charm. Listen to the gentle rustling of bamboo as you walk through the peaceful grove. See the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, also known as the “Moon-Crossing Bridge,” and stroll alongside the Katsura River. If you choose the lunch option, enjoy a traditional Japanese meal featuring seasonal Kyoto specialties.

Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)

Next, visit the stunning Kinkaku-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Covered entirely in gold leaf, the temple reflects beautifully in its surrounding pond and offers postcard-perfect views. Wander through its 14th-century gardens, preserved in their original layout.

Nara Park and Todai-ji Temple

The final leg of your journey takes you to Nara, Japan’s first permanent capital. Walk through Nara Park, where over 1,200 deer roam freely. With special shika-senbei crackers, you can feed the deer—who are known to bow politely in exchange.

Within the park, visit Todai-ji Temple, home to the Great Buddha (Daibutsu), one of Japan’s largest bronze statues. Explore the grounds of this massive wooden temple and soak in the spiritual energy of this historic landmark.

After a full day of sightseeing, relax aboard your air-conditioned coach as you return to your original pickup point.

Note: Only feed the deer designated “shika-senbei” for their health and safety.
