Experience the unique and beautiful Japanese resist dyeing technique known as shibori in this immersive hands-on class at the Kyoto Shibori Museum. You’ll use tubes and strings to create the Kyo-arashi style, a distinctive and elegant pattern used in high-end textiles.
Your instructor will guide you step-by-step as you design and dye your very own scarf—similar to those sold in the museum’s store. While your piece is drying, explore the museum’s curated exhibits of vintage and modern shibori works and see rare tools and materials used in this traditional art.
