First, visit Fushimi Inari Taisha, world-famous for its endless trail of red torii gates winding through the forest. The peaceful atmosphere in the morning light makes this spiritual spot even more magical.
Next, head to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site perched on a hillside, offering panoramic views over the city.
Your walk continues through Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, Kyoto’s beautifully preserved historical lanes, where you’ll have the chance to pick up local souvenirs and snacks.
You’ll also stop by Hōkan-ji (Yasaka Pagoda) and the colorful Yasaka Kōshin-dō, before wrapping up at the majestic Yasaka Shrine, located near Gion.
