Full Description
Step into the Asakusa Sumo Club Annex, Tokyo’s premier luxury sumo experience venue. Opened in 2025, this elegant branch of the beloved Asakusa Sumo Club combines cultural tradition with modern comfort in an experience tailored for international guests.
Your evening begins with a traditional Japanese dance by geisha, followed by the arrival of retired sumo wrestlers in a real dohyo (sumo ring) set up inside the restaurant. You’ll learn the history, techniques (kimarite), rituals, and customs of sumo in an engaging, bilingual commentary.
Then, watch an exciting best-of-three bout between former professional wrestlers who still command strength and presence in the ring. Guests may be invited to challenge a wrestler themselves—a thrilling and unforgettable moment (chosen by lottery in case of high interest).
Throughout the evening, indulge in a sumptuous meal including:
- A5 Wagyu beef sukiyaki
- Seasonal tempura
- Authentic chanko-nabe (chicken hot pot supervised by sumo wrestlers)
