Full Description
Embark on a guided journey to Mount Fuji’s most scenic areas, including Kawaguchiko Lake and Yamanaka Lake. This tour is designed to show you the mountain from multiple angles and immerse you in the natural and cultural richness that surrounds Japan’s iconic peak.
1. Kawaguchiko Lake: A Landscape of Four Seasons
Kawaguchiko is surrounded by famous seasonal highlights:
- Spring & Summer: Visit Kawaguchiko Ohashi Park for cherry blossoms and lavender with Mount Fuji in the backdrop.
- April–May: Witness over 800,000 vibrant moss phlox at the Fuji Shibazakura Festival near Lake Motosu.
- Summer–Fall: Enjoy the Music Forest Museum, where antique instruments play themselves while Mount Fuji towers in the distance.
- October–November: Stroll through the Maple Corridor, a breathtaking fusion of fall foliage and snowy Mount Fuji views.
2. Yamanaka Lake: A Peaceful Escape
Known as “White Bird Lake”, Yamanaka Lake is home to swans that migrate here between February and April. It’s the largest of the Fuji Five Lakes and offers a striking view of Mount Fuji’s ridgeline. Optional hot spring visits are available—relax and unwind with one of the best views in Japan.
3. Mount Fuji Viewpoints
Depending on the season, you’ll visit one of two iconic Fuji viewpoints:
- April 26 – September 30: Mount Fuji 5th Station (2,305 meters elevation) via the Subaru Line. Get as close to the summit as possible without hiking. On clear days, enjoy expansive views of the surrounding lakes and villages; on cloudy days, experience the mystical “sea of clouds.”
- October 1 – April 25: Visit Arakurayama Sengen Park. Climb 397 steps to the Chureito Pagoda for a stunning postcard view of Mount Fuji framed by cherry blossoms or autumn leaves.
