Verdi’s mid-period masterpiece, La Traviata, is synonymous with opera and enjoys overwhelming popularity. Set in the glamorous Parisian high society, the opera depicts the pure love and tragic fate of the courtesan Violetta through beautiful, dramatic music. Beginning with a tragic prelude, the opera is filled with a succession of masterpieces, including the famous “Drinking Song” sung at the opening soiree, Violetta’s love-struck aria “Ah, Is It His? From Flower to Flower,” and her father Germont’s heartbreaking “Sea and Land of Provence.” This definitive masterpiece is brimming with the essence of opera.

Faqs

What does the “Junior” ticket category refer to?

Junior tickets are specifically discounted rates for students ranging from elementary school through junior high school. Please note that you must be able to provide proof of age or a student ID if requested by the venue staff upon entry.

Are there English subtitles provided during the opera performance?

Yes, subtitles are provided, but for this specific production, English subtitles are only displayed on the left side of the stage. Because of this, we recommend selecting seats toward the center or right side of the hall for a better view of the text.

Can children under the age of six attend the opera?

According to the official venue policy, preschool-aged children are not permitted to enter the Opera Palace. This is to ensure that the quiet and dramatic atmosphere of the performance is maintained for all audience members.

What is the difference between the different seat categories like S, A, and B?

S seats offer the most direct and central views of the stage and performers, while categories A through D are situated further back or on the higher tiers. D seats are the most economical but may have a more distant perspective of the stage.

What should I do if the performance date I want is listed as “Sold Out”?

If official tickets are sold out, our concierge team can look into trusted and verified resale marketplaces in Japan to help you find a ticket. Availability on these platforms is subject to change, so we recommend reaching out to us as soon as possible.
