Full Description

Every November, Obara’s mountainsides burst into a once‑in‑a‑lifetime palette: soft pink Shiki‑Zakura petals mingling with scarlet and amber maple leaves. Your journey begins at Nagoya Station, where you board a private coach and head 80 minutes northeast to Obara Fureai Park. Your host will explain the region’s unique climate that coaxes Shiki‑Zakura into blooming twice (spring and autumn). Wander forest paths lined with cherry blossoms, maples, and gingko trees, and sample local specialties like gohei‑mochi rice cakes or Obara yuzu sweets.

Next, travel about 40 minutes to Korankei Gorge, famed since the 17th century when the head monk of Kojaku‑ji began planting maple trees along the river. You’ll have roughly two hours to cross the vermilion Taigetsu‑kyo Bridge, climb the gentle steps to Kojaku‑ji Temple for panoramic views, and browse stalls offering Momiji‑manjū, chestnut sweets, and regional craft beer. As evening nears, experience the magical light‑up when lanterns bathe the ravine in a warm glow—perfect for long‑exposure photography.

Return to Nagoya by about 20:30, arriving with plenty of time for dinner near the station or onward Shinkansen connections.
