The Osaka Castle Illuminage is a winter illumination event set in the historic Nishinomaru Garden of Osaka Castle, one of Japan’s most iconic landmarks. Osaka Castle, originally built in the late 16th century by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, played a central role in the unification of Japan during the Sengoku period.

The theme for this season is “Toyotomi’s Dream… Unification of the Nation”, inspired by the Sengoku period history of Osaka Castle.

Visitors can walk among life-sized samurai exhibits, a fully illuminated Nanban ship, and three-dimensional lights depicting Osaka’s landmarks and local cuisine. The event also features special seasonal displays, such as Christmas-themed illumination requiring separate tickets for peak days.
