Overview

Experience an afternoon of refined classical music as the “Vienna Scent 2026” series brings the prestigious sounds of Austria to the scenic shores of Lake Kawaguchi. This recital features the distinguished violinist Peter Waechter, a longtime member of the legendary Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, whose performance captures the authentic soul and tradition of the world’s music capital. Accompanied by the accomplished pianist Izumi Goto, the concert promises a masterclass in technical precision and expressive storytelling within one of Japan’s most unique architectural spaces.

The program is a curated journey through the core of the violin repertoire, featuring the elegant sonatas of W.A. Mozart and L.v. Beethoven alongside the virtuosic flair of Fritz Kreisler. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Yamanashi Prefecture, the Kawaguchiko Circular Hall provides an intimate “rotunda” setting where every vibration of the strings resonates with crystal clarity. This event is not merely a concert but a cultural bridge connecting the historic grandeur of Vienna with the natural serenity of the Fuji Five Lakes region.
