This tour begins at Sekigahara Station, where your English-speaking guide will welcome you with a DeepExperience sign. You’ll start with a visit to the newly renovated Sekigahara Battlefield Memorial Museum, designed to make Japan’s military history more accessible to international visitors. The museum includes multilingual displays, dramatic visual recreations, and large-scale maps that illustrate the strategic movements during the Battle of Sekigahara.
After gaining context at the museum, the guided walking portion begins. You’ll explore key battlefield landmarks including the locations of major clans such as Tokugawa Ieyasu, Ishida Mitsunari, and Kobayakawa Hideaki. Your guide will explain the political causes that led to the battle, the layout of troops, betrayals that tipped the balance, and how Tokugawa emerged victorious to establish the Edo shogunate.
Along the way, you’ll see defensive structures, memorials, and preserved historical features of the landscape.
