To mark the reopening of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts and the upcoming Osaka-Kansai Expo, a spectacular exhibition featuring around 130 National Treasures from across Japan will be held in Osaka for the first time. This event offers an unprecedented opportunity to see sacred Buddhist sculptures, ancient scrolls, celebrated paintings, samurai armor, lacquerware, and pottery — all in one location.

Model and actress Ayami Nakajo, a native of Osaka’s Abeno Ward, serves as the official ambassador of the exhibition, promoting cultural pride and awareness throughout the region.

A key aim of this exhibition is to strengthen intergenerational understanding of Japan’s heritage, while celebrating Osaka’s role as a major cultural hub during Expo 2025.

Setouchi Triennale 2025

The Setouchi Triennale transforms the islands of Japan’s Seto Inland Sea into a living, open-air art museum. Held once every three years, the festival features site-specific installations, interactive exhibits, and performances that embrace the environment, history, and architecture of each island. It is a profound blend of creativity and community.

Since its launch in 2010, the festival has helped revitalize rural communities suffering from depopulation by attracting art lovers, travelers, and locals to participate in the magic of regional creativity.

Spring Session: April 18 – May 25
Summer Session: August 1 – August 31
Autumn Session: October 3 – November 9

Setouchi Triennale Passport

To fully experience the festival, the Setouchi Triennale Passport is highly recommended. This one-time access pass allows you to explore most of the artworks during each session and includes bonuses like discounts on local events and attractions. Plus, passport holders can enjoy a fun stamp rally for all ages.

Ticket Types & Pricing:
All Season Passport (Valid for all sessions)

Advance (until April 17, 2025):
- General (19+): ¥4,300
- Youth (16–18): ¥2,500 (ID required)
From April 18, 2025 onward:
- General: ¥5,500
- Youth: ¥2,500

Single Season Passport (Spring / Summer / Autumn)

General (19+): ¥4,500
Youth (16–18): ¥2,500

Admission is free for children under 15. Special “Children’s Passports” will be handed out for free at information booths, allowing kids to join the stamp rally. Some major museums such as the Chichu Art Museum and Teshima Art Museum require separate entry fees.
