Faqs:

Is this camera suitable for professional video use?

Yes, the a6700 is highly capable for professional video, offering features like 4K resolution up to 120p, 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, and advanced color profiles. The included power zoom lens (SELP18105G) is particularly well-suited for video, allowing for smooth, controlled zooming during a shoot.

How many batteries are included and what is their typical lifespan?

The rental includes two NP-FZ100 rechargeable batteries. Under CIPA standards, one battery is rated for approximately 570 shots (using the LCD monitor). Having two batteries ensures you have enough power for an extended full day of shooting and traveling.

Is the included lens suitable for low-light photography in places like neon streets?

The E PZ 18-105mm F4 G OSS has a constant maximum aperture of F4. While F4 is good for daylight, the camera’s high-performance 26MP BSI sensor and 5-axis image stabilization work together to produce bright, clean images even in low light, especially when paired with a moderate increase in ISO.

Can I use other lenses with the Sony a6700 body?

Yes, the Sony a6700 uses the Sony E-mount. You can use any Sony E-mount lens (APS-C or Full-Frame) and the vast ecosystem of third-party E-mount lenses. The a6700’s compact size pairs well with other lightweight APS-C prime lenses for discreet street photography.

How reliable is the AI autofocus system for tracking subjects like people and animals?

The AI-driven Real-time Tracking and improved Eye AF are extremely reliable. They utilize a dedicated AI processing unit to instantly recognize and lock onto subjects like people, animals, and birds, ensuring sharp focus even when subjects are moving quickly, which is ideal for capturing candid moments during your travels.
