Faqs:

How fast is the autofocus on the RX10M4, and why is it important for travel?

The RX10M4 boasts the world’s fastest AF speed of 0.03 seconds. This speed, combined with its 315 phase-detection points covering the sensor, ensures that the camera locks onto moving subjects almost instantly. This is crucial for capturing candid moments and fast action during your trip, preventing missed shots.

Is the 600 millimeter reach useful for non-wildlife tourists in Japan?

Absolutely. The 600 millimeter telephoto end is excellent for isolating distant subjects, such as details on temple rooftops, sculptures on remote mountainsides, or street performers from a non-intrusive distance. It also allows you to compress perspective for dramatic landscape shots.

Can I use an external microphone with this camera?

Yes, the RX10M4 is equipped with a 3.5 millimeter stereo mini jack microphone terminal. This allows you to connect an external microphone for superior audio quality, essential for high-quality video recording, vlogging, or recording ambient sounds.

How does the “Super Slow Motion” feature work?

The HFR (High Frame Rate) mode allows you to record video at up to 960 frames per second, which plays back 40 times slower than normal. This is a creative tool that allows you to capture dramatic slow-motion clips of movement, like water splashing or an archer drawing a bow. Note that audio is not recorded in this mode.

What storage requirements are there for 4K video recording?

For 4K video recording in the XAVC S format, an SDXC memory card of Class 10 or higher is required. For the highest quality 100Mbps 4K recording, a UHS-I (U3) SDXC memory card is necessary. We include a 64GB UHS Speed Class 3 card to meet these needs.
