- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance to enjoy a short pre-opening comedy show at 17:30.
At THE SUMO HALL HIRAKUZA OSAKA, enjoy two unique experiences:
[Sumo Show] – Starts at 18:00
Experience an action-packed stage show featuring real retired sumo wrestlers, enhanced with sound, lighting, and visuals. Learn about sumo’s 1,500-year history and witness powerful live matches as you relax with a bento and drink in hand.
During the 60-minute performance, you’ll hear engaging commentary about the sport and its traditions, and may even get to ask the wrestlers questions.
After the show, take a commemorative photo with the wrestlers. Eating a bento while watching a live event is a deeply rooted part of Japanese culture, providing a truly immersive experience.
[Sumo Workshop Experience] – Starts at 13:30
Arrive 15 minutes early and dive into sumo culture hands-on. Begin with an introduction to sumo and its techniques, followed by a live match between retired wrestlers.
Then, step into the ring and try training moves yourself. A few lucky participants (by lottery) can challenge a wrestler in full gear. The session ends with a bowl of hearty Chanko Nabe, the traditional sumo meal, and a group photo with the wrestlers.
