Full Description

Your experience begins at Teradachō Station, where you’ll be greeted by your instructor and taken on a short walk through a quiet, local neighborhood in Osaka — far from the tourist crowds. The workshop is held in a charming two-story Showa-era house, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-20th century Japan.

Inside the studio, you’ll receive step-by-step guidance in crafting your ceramic piece. You can choose to create:

  • A sake set (bottle and cup)
  • A sushi set (plate and chopstick rest)
  • A chawan (traditional tea bowl)

The materials are sourced from Shigaraki, one of Japan’s most prestigious pottery regions, and the glazes are traditional colors widely used in Japanese ceramics.

Your instructor, fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan, will share stories and insights into Japanese culture, ceramics, and gastronomy throughout the session. The experience includes a gift: a sushi plate and a cherry blossom-shaped chopstick holder, handcrafted by your instructor.

If you wish, your own ceramic creation can be shipped to your home once fired and glazed (international shipping fees apply).
