Full description

Start your day by soaking in the quiet charm of Gion, Kyoto’s historic geisha district. In the morning hours, Gion offers a calm, contemplative atmosphere — a stark contrast to its bustling nightlife. Your knowledgeable guide will lead you through the picturesque alleys and across Shijo-ohashi Bridge, sharing stories and hidden details of the area.

The walk continues to a shrine beloved by locals, providing insight into the spiritual heart of Kyoto. After this cultural introduction, you’ll head to Nishiki Market — a 400-year-old marketplace that’s deeply woven into Kyoto’s culinary history.

With your guide, you’ll enjoy a one-of-a-kind Japanese breakfast featuring a selection of 4–5 hand-picked local dishes. As you sample seasonal delicacies, your guide will explain the significance and ingredients of each, offering insights not found in typical sightseeing tours. It’s a chance to both taste and understand Kyoto’s food culture in an immersive way.

Feel free to ask questions — your guide will happily share personal tips and deeper context about Kyoto’s traditions, culture, and cuisine.
