Step into the world of the samurai at the Nomura Family Samurai Residence, located in the Nagamachi Samurai District—an area once home to many samurai warriors under the rule of the powerful Maeda clan.
This site is the only publicly accessible samurai residence in the district, offering an immersive experience inside a beautifully preserved former home of Nomura Denbei Nobusada, a samurai retainer of Lord Maeda Toshiie.
The house offers a rare glimpse into samurai life over four centuries ago. You’ll find a traditional tearoom, stunning interiors, calligraphy scrolls, historic weaponry, and detailed woodwork. Outside, the garden—recognized for its beauty—provides a peaceful atmosphere with a pond, waterfall, and seasonal foliage.
