Product Description

The Atami Marine Fireworks Festival is a historic fireworks festival that began in 1952. It is a famous Atami event that is held more than 10 times throughout the year, not just in the summer.
The Atami Bay, where the fireworks are held, is surrounded by mountains on three sides, so the sound of the fireworks reverberates and creates an acoustic effect like a large stadium. It is a highly praised fireworks venue by fireworks companies.
The fireworks that spread into the night sky, the fireworks reflected on the water, and the beauty of the “Aerial Niagara” that decorates the finale are so beautiful that you will forget to blink.
Please come and experience the spectacular “Atami Marine Fireworks Festival”!

After the fireworks are over, Atami Station will be very crowded. Please cooperate with the following to reduce congestion:

  • Please purchase your return ticket in advance (charge your IC card).

History of the Festival
The Atami Marine Fireworks Festival began in 1952 as a celebration of the city’s post-disaster recovery. In 1949, the “Kitty Typhoon” caused major damage, followed by fires in 1950.
The community worked hard to rebuild, and the fireworks display was launched to show appreciation for those efforts. It has since become a year-round tradition and is now held multiple times annually.

The venue is highly praised for its natural acoustics due to the surrounding mountains, amplifying the sound of the fireworks. The two main highlights are:

  • “Niagara in the Sky” finale: A brilliant display where silver fireworks fill the sky.
  • Acoustic reverberation: Thanks to the surrounding terrain, the sounds reach viewers’ bodies, offering a full sensory experience.
