Held in Nagoya, right in the geographical center of Japan, this four-day celebration is a joyful fusion of tradition, creativity, and community spirit.

What is Domatsuri?

Unlike traditional festivals that are primarily for spectators, Domatsuri embodies the concept of “zero spectators = everyone participates.” More than just a performance, it’s an inclusive cultural movement where over 20,000 dancers and 200 teams from across Japan and the world gather to showcase expressive, regional dance routines with dazzling costumes and pulsating music.

What sets Domatsuri apart is its signature group dance known as “Soudori”, where everyone—dancers and onlookers alike—joins in. In 2010, Domatsuri’s Soudori was officially recognized by Guinness World Records™ as the “World’s Largest Synchronized Dance”, solidifying its status as a global cultural phenomenon.

Price:

The Nippon Domannaka Festival, including its 2025 edition, is largely free to attend across most venues. While select locations—such as the main stage at Hisaya Odori Park—offer reserved paid seating, general admission and viewing from the park remain open to the public at no cost.
