Product Description

The Kanazawa Marathon 2025 is an officially recognized race certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), World Athletics, and AIMS. This full marathon (42.195 km) is known for its scenic route through the historical city of Kanazawa, offering a unique blend of culture, architecture, and community support.

• Event Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025
• Registration Dates:
  • Friday, October 24: 14:00–21:00
  • Saturday, October 25: 10:00–20:00
  • Note: There is no registration on race day.
• Event Type: Full Marathon only (42.195 km)
• Participant Limit: 15,000 runners
  • If applications exceed this limit, a lottery will be held.

Eligibility and Entry Requirements

• Minimum Age: Runners must be born before April 1, 2007.
• Substitute Participation: Not allowed under any circumstances.
• Registration Proxy: Only the participant may complete registration—no proxies allowed.
• Weather Policy: The event will proceed in rainy weather unless deemed unsafe due to extreme conditions (e.g., typhoons, disasters).
  • Final announcements will be made at 5:00 a.m. on the event day via the official website.

Entry Categories and Priority Slots

The following runners are eligible for priority entry without lottery:

2. Volunteers from the 2025 Games
3. Overseas Runners
4. Qualified Tour Participants
5. People with Disabilities
6. Hometown Tax Donation Runners
   • First 700 applicants, limited to those living outside Ishikawa Prefecture
7. Charity Tax Donation Runners
   • First 300 applicants, limited to residents of Ishikawa Prefecture

Special Notes for JAAF Registered Athletes

• Must be registered with a prefectural athletics association affiliated with the JAAF.
• Official race results will be recognized as part of the athlete’s record.
• Registration should be valid for the 2025 fiscal year (after April 1, 2025).

Accessibility and Support

• Participants with Disabilities: Welcome to join and granted priority entry. However:
  • Wheelchair users are not allowed
  • Guide dogs are not permitted
  • Participants needing assistance must be accompanied by one escort runner
• Escort Runner Information:
  • No additional entry fee required
  • Escort runner must register together with the runner
  • Escort can be changed only once

Application and Confirmation Process

• Applications are submitted via RUNNET.
• If you do not receive a confirmation email, check spam filters and allow the domain @runnet.jp.
• Results of the entry lottery will be announced by email on Monday, June 23, 2025, and available in the “Entry History” section of your RUNNET My Page.
• After entry, changes can only be made until Wednesday, May 21, 2025 (17:00 JST).

Pair Entry System

• Allows two participants (family, friends) to apply together.
• Both individuals will either be selected or rejected together.
• Entry fee is per person and remains the same as individual entries.
• Important Notes:
  • If duplicate entries (individual + pair) are found, both entries will be disqualified.
  • Changes to partner are allowed only during the application period.
  • Pair entries do not guarantee the same starting block, even with the same declared time.

Logistics & Transportation

Getting to the Start Line

• Location: Near Kanazawa Station
• By Foot: Approximately 20 minutes walk from Kanazawa Station
• Shuttle Bus:
  • Paid shuttle buses available from Kanazawa Station
  • Tickets sold at runner registration on Oct 24 & 25
  • Limited availability—purchase early

Luggage Transport

• Runner’s bags will be transported from the starting point to the finish line.
• Only official bags provided at registration will be accepted.
• Delivery may be delayed due to road conditions.

Post-Race Shuttle

• Free shuttle service will be provided on race day from the finish area at Ishikawa Prefecture Western Green Park to:
  • Kanazawa Station (West Exit / Kanazawa Port Exit)
  • Katamachi (near the starting point)
• This service is open to all, including non-participants.

Accommodation

• Accommodation information and booking options will be made available in late June on the official website’s “Accommodation Information” page.

Cancellation & Refunds

• The marathon may be canceled due to natural disasters or unforeseen circumstances.
• If canceled, organizers will evaluate whether entry fees or a portion thereof can be refunded.
• Refunds, if any, may be issued as cash vouchers or similar.
