What to Expect

This itinerary covers multiple scenic attractions in a single day, making it a fulfilling and efficient option for travelers who want to explore many iconic spots. It’s ideal for those looking to visit popular locations without spending multiple days. Since it’s a long day trip, we recommend getting plenty of rest the night before and wearing comfortable clothes and shoes.

The journey begins early in the morning, heading first to Hakone. The initial stop is Hakone Shrine, where visitors can stroll along the historic pathway and take in the serene, spiritual atmosphere.

Next is the picturesque Sea Torii of Lake Ashi. Standing beside the lake and viewing the torii gate set against the backdrop of water and mountains creates a peaceful and moving moment.

You’ll then board the unique Hakone Pirate Ship. This is a fun and adventurous way to take in the stunning views of Lake Ashi and possibly catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji.

In the afternoon, the Hakone Ropeway provides panoramic views of the region. Traveling high above the landscape, you’ll get a breathtaking perspective on Hakone’s natural beauty.

A stop at Owakudani offers a more rugged experience. Known for its volcanic activity, sulfur vents, and dramatic scenery, this part of the tour is a memorable encounter with nature’s raw power.

Finally, the tour wraps up with visits to Lake Yamanaka and Oshino Hakkai. The sunset over Lake Yamanaka is a highlight, while the crystal-clear spring waters of Oshino Hakkai offer a peaceful conclusion to the day.

This tour offers a blend of natural wonders, cultural sites, and scenic beauty—perfect for anyone wanting to escape the city for a refreshing day trip.

“Great guide, even in bad weather”
Despite the rain and clouds, our guide Tom made the day enjoyable with clear explanations and a well-paced schedule. The included Japanese set meal was delicious—especially the udon noodles.
