Design and decorate your own ceramic plate and chopstick rest in a private hands-on workshop. Guided by an expert instructor, this unique experience connects creativity with Japanese tradition in the heart of local Osaka.
Escape the crowds and immerse yourself in Japanese culture through this private ceramic painting workshop. The experience begins with a warm welcome at JR Teradacho Station, followed by a short walk to a historic 100-year-old home studio tucked away in Osaka’s quiet and authentic Ikuno Ward.
At the studio, you’ll be introduced to the traditional technique of ceramic painting, using a brush and ceramic paints. Select from classic Japanese motifs—such as Mount Fuji, sakura blossoms, sushi, or kanji symbols—and express your creativity freely.
Your instructor, Anna, who trained in both Osaka and Barcelona, will guide you through each step. No prior experience is needed. Along with your personalized ceramic artwork, you’ll receive a small gift set: a sakura-shaped chopstick rest and a dish featuring a traditional Japanese pattern.
After the session, enjoy a relaxing cup of tea and explore a small gallery of hand-crafted ceramics. Your painted dish will be kiln-fired and shipped to your home in about 1.5 months (shipping cost not included).
This is more than just a workshop—it’s a glimpse into everyday Japanese life and culture, far from tourist trails.
