Full Description
Begin your cultural journey with a morning departure from Kyoto Station aboard a comfortable, Wi-Fi-equipped coach. Along the way, catch glimpses of historic landmarks such as Fushimi Castle and Heijokyo Palace, setting the tone for a day steeped in heritage.
Your first destination is Todaiji Temple, home to the world’s largest bronze statue of Buddha housed within the awe-inspiring Great Buddha Hall. Marvel at this architectural wonder, originally constructed in the 8th century and still one of the most iconic sights in Japan.
Just outside Todaiji lies Nara Park, a peaceful expanse home to more than 1,400 wild deer. Considered messengers of the gods, these deer are a beloved symbol of the city. Take time to enjoy close interactions with these gentle animals and stroll through this picturesque public park.
Continue your walk through the towering Nandaimon Gate, guarded by two imposing wooden statues that mark the entrance to Todaiji’s sacred grounds.
