Uncover the rich flavors and heritage of Japanese matcha in this immersive tasting and hands-on experience led by a former Kyoto tea farmer. Sample premium matcha from across Japan, learn how it’s grown, and master traditional tea-making techniques in the heart of Tokyo.
Step into the world of matcha with this guided tasting and making workshop in Tokyo. Perfect for tea lovers and cultural explorers, this experience is hosted by a former Kyoto tea farmer with 6 years of hands-on growing experience.
Start with a refreshing welcome drink as you’re introduced to the history, cultural significance, and production methods of matcha. You’ll then participate in a guided tasting of 10 matcha varieties sourced from 5 major tea-producing regions in Japan.
Compare 8 ceremonial-grade matchas and 2 lower-grade powders often mislabeled as matcha abroad. You’ll evaluate their color, aroma, and flavor profiles before selecting your favorite to use in a hands-on matcha-making session.
With guidance, you’ll learn the proper way to make usucha (thin tea) using a bamboo whisk. Finally, relax with a matcha latte made from a special house blend, paired with curated Japanese matcha sweets.
This experience offers a rich journey through Japan’s tea culture—and the skills to recreate it at home.
