Full Description

Located just a short walk from Gojo Station in central Kyoto, this long-established kimono rental shop invites you to enjoy a rich cultural experience that connects you to Japan’s elegant past. Operated by a historic kimono business with roots in the Edo period, the shop offers one of Kyoto’s largest selections of kimono rentals.

With hundreds of styles to choose from — ranging from classic and refined to bold and contemporary — every guest can find the perfect kimono or yukata for their taste, season, or occasion. Whether you’re dressing for a casual stroll, a formal tea ceremony, or a memorable photoshoot, there’s an option tailored just for you.

Our size-inclusive offerings accommodate a wide range of body types:

  • Women: Sizes S to 4LW
  • Men: Sizes 5S to 5L

The dressing staff are trained in-house and must pass rigorous internal examinations before styling guests. We do not hire part-time or temporary staff, ensuring consistent service quality, comfort, and cultural authenticity in every experience.

Our central location makes it easy to access Kyoto’s iconic attractions like Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Gion, Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Nijo Castle. From here, you can begin your journey through Kyoto not just as a visitor but as part of its living cultural story.

Wearing a kimono in Kyoto is more than just a photo opportunity — it’s a way to immerse yourself in Japanese tradition, creating cherished memories and a deeper connection to the spirit of the city.

Reviews

Very fun to get dressed up. The workers were helpful and the hairdresser was very talented.

The staff here was great. They had kimonos for all price ranges and lovely low-price hakamas. On Sunday they had friendly English-speaking staff to assist us. Would go see them again.

Absolutely brilliant, incredibly kind and caring! It was a great experience and great memories. The yukatas are extremely clean and beautiful. The hairdressers are very talented and fast. I recommend without hesitation!
