The Story: Japan’s Premier Family Stage Show
For a time Kodomo Challenge and its fun tiger mascot, Shimajiro have been a big part of how kids learn and have fun in Japan. It started as a way to learn things made by Benesse Corporation and then it became a really popular cartoon show, Shimajiro no Oshimatsu and a big stage show that goes all around Japan. A lot of families go to see it every year.
The new show for 2026 is called “Shimajiro and the Happy Party in the Land of Sweets”. This show has Shimajiro and his friends, Mimirin, Torippi and Nyakkii going on a fun adventure together. The story is about Shimajiro and his friends going to a place called the “Land of Sweets” to throw a surprise birthday party for Torippi. But when they try to make a birthday cake it does not work out so they have to go on a trip to the Fruit Forest to find some berries to make the cake before the party starts.
This show is making for little kids who are going to their first live show. It is not scary or too loud so it is okay for them. Everyone who goes to the show gets a stick called the “Spinning Stick” that they can use to help the people on stage. They can wave it dance and solve puzzles with the actors. The show has music, easy dances and a good story so the Shimajiro Concert is something special that families, in Japan really like.
