Full description
Start your journey in Nara Park, where you’ll encounter freely roaming deer, considered sacred messengers in Shinto tradition. Feed them senbei crackers and observe their surprisingly polite bowing behavior.
Then walk to the Kasuga Shrine, nestled in an ancient forest. The shrine is famous for its hanging bronze lanterns and stone lantern-lined paths. Learn about its spiritual importance and deep history with your knowledgeable guide.
Conclude your tour at Todai-ji Temple, home to the Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall). Inside, you’ll see one of the largest bronze statues of Buddha in the world, surrounded by impressive wooden architecture.
Throughout the tour, your guide will share insights into local beliefs, architecture, and Nara’s role in shaping Japan’s early history.
