Join the legendary Samurai Joe Okada on a cultural journey through Kyoto. Dressed in traditional Samurai attire, Joe will guide you through historic sites while sharing stories of Kyoto’s imperial and warrior past.
The tour begins at Kyoto City Hall Plaza and moves through a curated selection of traditional arts and crafts shops—where you’ll visit a wood engraver and a brush-and-ink maker. These artisan spaces reveal the living traditions that still thrive in modern Kyoto.
You’ll then explore sacred sites, including a Buddhist temple and a Shinto shrine, before heading into the serene Kyoto Imperial Palace Forest—a tranquil and symbolic heart of Japan’s history.
Midway through the tour, you’ll stop at a local market for a light lunch of seasonal Kyoto delicacies. After lunch, Joe Okada will give a thrilling demonstration of Samurai sword techniques. He may even call on a volunteer from the group to assist in his show.
