Faqs:

What are the main benefits of using the BG-R20 battery grip?

The primary benefits are doubling your camera’s shooting time by holding two batteries, and significantly improving ergonomics and handling, especially when taking portrait-orientation photos using the secondary set of controls.

Which Canon camera models are compatible with this battery grip?

The BG-R20 is compatible with several professional Canon mirrorless cameras, including the EOS R5 Mark II, EOS R5, EOS R6 Mark III, EOS R6 Mark II, and EOS R6, providing a consistent power solution across these bodies.

Are the necessary batteries included with the BG-R20 rental?

No, the batteries themselves (LP-E6P, LP-E6NH, etc.) are not included with the BG-R20 grip rental. You must rent or supply compatible Canon LP-E6 series battery packs separately to use the grip.

Are there any functional limitations when using certain older batteries with newer cameras?

Yes, for the EOS R5 Mark II and EOS R6 Mark III, using LP-E6NH or LP-E6N batteries imposes some limitations on high-power features like pre-continuous shooting and certain network functionalities. The older LP-E6 is not compatible at all with these newest bodies.

Can I use this grip to charge the batteries inside it?

The main function of the BG-R20 is to supply power to the camera. Charging capability depends on the camera body model and whether it supports in-camera charging via USB while the grip and batteries are attached.
